I didn't notice the issue until I compared the gear number on the shifter
to where the chain actually is after hearing an odd clicking sound.
the gear number on the lever is a gimmick, IMO ,index shifting is a gimmick too ,
but it did get people on bikes .


too bad people expect asking questions about sounds in a text medium think they will
describe things so clearly when they cannot.

rather than say 5, count the teeth on the chainrings and cogs, write that down.

a 42 by 18 gear has a definite meaning , a 2.333:1 ratio ..

5 says nothing ..

I'm so much better fixing things I can see in front of me , with my hands .

but this does kill time here . while I have audio on my computer.
