I put together this 53cm IRO Mark V over the weekend.

I wanted to go back to a steel frame. The ride is much better than the aluminum District that I had been riding. I also prefer a chain over the belt drive. And it finally gave me a chance to mount some proper short reach brake calipers, Bontragers in this case. I do like good braking.

I also used this American Classic seatpost to mount the Ti Rolls saddle. This seat post does not get enough attention, it is very adjustable and super light.

The District had felt a bit big at 56cm. It had long chainstays hence a long wheelbase and also a giant 16cm head tube. The 53cm IRO is on the small side with a very short 10cm headtube. I have a 140mm stem, party for reach and partly for rise. It's quite comfortable though I might try a 130mm stem some time. I prefer to be a bit stretched out vs. hunched over. And the forward bars are superb when pedalling out of the saddle.
