I must have started early or gone faster than usual or both, at my desk 30 minutes early. And that after a detour to the convenience store. I startled the girl at the counter, asking me if it was raining outside - me in my non-cycling attire drenched in sweat. I said no it's just me; I don't know what she thought of that. Probably felt sorry for the decrepit older guy who couldn't handle the morning heat. LOL

I enjoy the detour because it's more or less downhill into work and I take the whole lane at a pretty good clip. A car was pacing me from behind in the left adjacent lane; I don't know why they do that, just curious maybe. It's not like I broke any speed records that they could post on facebook, 32 or 33 mph tops.
