Bridgestone had a line of bikes named after stars. Your is named after Altair, the 11th brightest star in the sky. I had a Bridgestone Spica, which is the 14th brightest star in the sky.

That's pretty much all I know, except they were Cro-Mo frames, and very well built. Bridgestone bike have a certain cult following, especially the better ones like your and mine. Even cosmetically challenged, I sold my Spica for a good price not too long ago.

I suggest you lock it up when you're not on it......
