I can't recommend the ride enough. The support is unbelievable. Routes VERY well marked, vols/police at every intersection, GREAT mechanics on the road and at every stop, killer food, HARPOON all weekend! Sign up is in January and, if you want the 2 day Sturbridge to P-town route, you should commit early. The ride is not difficult, the fund raising commitment is significant. If you have friends that work for companies that match donations that can make the $ side much easier.
No, I didn't lose my son but very close friends did. I hadn't been on a bike in over 30 years when their son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I rode for Kyle in the 25 mile Brain Tumor Society ride that year and promised him I'd ride 50 the next. Did the 50 and told him the PMC was next. Sadly he never saw it happen. Watching the family go through that changed my life and I've been riding ever since. 40 seconds into this you'll see my friend - Kyle's dad and his niece. This was his niece's first PMC - she kicked it's ass, dunes and all!
