toestraps won't snap your ankle. you must've got that statistic from someone who suffered degenerative bone disease. I've been professional status for 8 non-consecutive years, and built bikes that exceed the usable ability for any course and adapt my riding ability to it's difficulty. I like toestraps and I wouldn't wanna be like the clipless croud, because I can dust 'em on the pavement and on the trails. It's like a bar end, or a kickstand
