The far most annoying thing about skinny tires is listening to the people that don't like skinny tires!
Compared to the Specialized Armadillo Flak Jacket 35's that came on my hybrid, anything skinnier was an improvement. Even at 85 PSI, they were total slugs. Knobbies wouldn't have been that much worse.
I initially put on 28mm Serfas Seca's, but they were too prone to flats in spite of their "FPS System".
The LBS had them and I needed a skinny tire pronto.
I then ordered the 26mm tires in my initial post from biketiresdirect.com and have been totally pleased.
Knock on wood, but no flats in 2000 miles.
