Only those with their updating set to auto update would get the update at the time specified in settings or the first time they are online (if they set that). Only goes to prove that you should always a) set a regular update interval (daily is preferred), check their forums when trouble occurs (it will happen to many) and learn to roll back and reinstall if needed (may show a bad update when removed) as recommended by AVG.
More often than not a bad update has to be rolled back and updates reinstalled where AVG is involved. Sometimes it takes more time for them to solve a problem.
