Do her friends spend a lot of time with you and your wife in the bedroom? If you know what I mean, wink wink nudge nudge AOOGA

Joking aside, even though your bedroom may be large, that particular placement in your pic in the OP does not look particularly unobtrusive. Can you find a way to have those lovely bikes stored in more of a display mode? (For instance see here).

My (family's) bikes live in the garage, in a rack I made. I still have not yet installed two ceiling mounts in the garage, the kind of thing with cord&pulleys, operates like a venetian blind mechanism to get it up/down. Maybe you could find some way like that to either store the bikes in your room in a more attractive way, or store them in the garage up and away from what children might do to them.
