I agree it's not for the faint of heart but that is why I kept the mileage low. At first I was thinking of doing 250+ mile (80-100 mile day) but then I figured that 50 miles there count as 100 miles anywhere else!
That being said, the good thing is that even though it is tough there is no pressure to finish the ride on a hurry. We can start riding at 8 or 9 am and finish the ride at 5 or 6. That is fairly ok for 60+/- mile routes.
I rode my motorcycle up there on sunday and the scenery is just breathtaking! A little too much traffic though with the leaf watchers and all. Beautiful nonetheless.
