The avalanche thing was definitely a concern at times. For years the Chutes on Mt. Rose proper were closed and every year someone would get buried there. They opened them when they had enough avalanche control in place. You knew it was going to be a good day when you heard cannons and bombs in the morning.
You know, if I was a still a moderator I'd probably pull this skiing stuff out into a separate thread. But I'm not.
those chutes are so avy-prone. i've only ever skied them in the springtime, after rose was closed. (lived in tahoe for a bit, years ago.)
thread about drops = climbing, descending, moto, skiing…where will it take us next? at least you brought it back with the training aspect of the bc skiing.
