Do what you want to do. My specific reasons to keep my summer tires:
-schwalbe marathon plus tour that are very good against puncture to date
-i had pretty bad experience with my previous winter tires
-lots of tire liners that i spent time placing properly inside my schwalbe marathon tires that i don't want to move risking puncture
-the price (clamps + studs) 40$ for 2 wheels vs 80$ or even 180$ for 2 good winter tires
-my IGH that i find to be painful to change a (flat) tire especially at -30F
-to experiment
-because i can
-because it works
-because i use clamps for many things and that i find to be nearly as useful as tape or zip ties in general use
