as long as you avoid a deep discharge and keep them out of an extended duration of direct sunlight, they will last a long time.
oh, and try not to drop them. However, that's what apple care is good for.


minimum 3 years, maximum 5 to 7 years.

modern Li-Ion batteries will wear out 10%/year on average.

My surface pro, that I bought back in march, indicates 11% wear level, so I am not doing as well, but I use this thing constantly so it has gone through a lot of charge cycles already.
