Tell us about your first ride in 2014!!

The first day of 2014 started cool and rainy. It didn't bode well for a ride, and we debated about some other options. But then, about 2:30 pm, the rain cleared and the sun came out ... so we decided to go for a ride through various parts of Hobart. We did a loop, part of which I had not ridden before, and then decided we hadn't ridden far enough, and did an out and back on a familiar route. 41.69 km all up.
About 2/3 of the way through, the wind picked up and was gusting to 60 km/h ... just to add to the challenge.
That's our longest ride this year!!
... and also the longest ride we've done since the 17th of November.
