I've had shifting problems with my Calfee/Shimano setup for quite awhile. Neither I nor a couple of mechanics were able to solve it. I recently found out the Shimano is making directional chains and wouldn't you know it, mine was installed backwards. I flipped the chain and so far (only 2 rides) the problem has disappeared.
