Basically 1 and 3 with more emphasis on 1. For quite a while I was supplying four of us with chain lube and mixing my own was a lot more cost effective. I bough a gallon of OMS and a quart of Mobile 1 at Walmart, mixed the lube 1 quart at a time in a left over solvent can and distributed it is recycled Prolink bottles. That was 10 years ago or more and we are still using lube from the original solvent/oil inventory. The fact is it works and works well. Our chains are quiet, shift well, last a long time and don't get too dirty so we have little incentive to change.
