I wouldn't be too concerned about what I'm seeing in the photo. The steerer, being the smallest crossection, is usually the greater issue, and it looks to be fine by my eyes.

But you do raise a point in that when a carbon crown race is somehow damaged or not right what is the recourse. With metal crown seats one can remachine them (to a degree). If a carbon one is so bad as to not allow the race/bearing to sit properly what's to be done? Maybe adding material as in JB Weld? I am pretty sure the manufacturer would say to replace the fork.

How old is the fork? Any chance of a warranty inspection? Andy.
