40 lbs? Are you joking? Why not just drag an anchor with you. My heaviest mt bikes only weigh 30-32 lbs with xl frame and beefy tires and wheels. I hope you don't have more than 5 miles with no hills for your commute. Has to be better choices out there for you. Checked out linus bikes?
