i totally get what you're saying.. but-
in theory these workouts should be equally as hard for me as they would be for anyone (perceived).. Since the basis of the training is the completion of all the reps, and all the sets- there has to be some amount of pacing.
in the words of my coach:
"dont blame me! you're the one who decided how hard hard is"
