Are you warming up the same way that you'd warm up for squats? I do.
Yeah, I do a good warm up. I ride my road bike to the gym, which is 20-30 minutes depending where I'm coming from, then I do a progressing warm up on the machine with first set just the empty sled going gradually up to a what is right now 155 before doing the work sets. Maybe it's just cuz it's the first time it felt heavy. First time I did front squats that felt heavy I had all kids of weird soreness in strange places, but that diminished as I got accustomed to the lift.
