Magna, Next and should be avoided. Huffy and Schwinn can be just as bad at the low end. I second craigslist. On CL, many of those can be talked down on price. Single speed bikes are OK if it is flat where you plan to ride. At your size, even if it is just a little hilly, gears are recommended.
