I was able to use a pair of
Shimano BL-1055 Aero Hood Covers on my BL-6401 levers. The point at the top is slightly higher, so their is an empty space about the size of an M&M there, but it's not noticeable in use. If I ever have a reason to remove and reinstall them, I'll probably stick a wadded-up cotton ball in it.
