The Shimano TL-FH40 tool is a nice tool to have , but if one want to service a freehub , it is easy to do without the tool , just use a punch or a screwdriver to remove the cup clockwise from the freehub and once that done then service the freehub as you would do a freewheel . I know many here would tell you not to brother and just replace it .
