I like tape, but after a long search and plenty of testing, found a product called Reflect-All. It's a new spray that you can put on almost anything. I'll try and get a night photo - but it's amazing how well it works.
You can tape off your ride for nice effects too.

I was curious about painting the sidewalls on my tires with this in a band, perhaps not a solid ring but a pattern, semi solid or a 1/3 strip and a progessive series of strips and then some black.. to attrack attention. Not sure what pattern would be best.
