I've been looking into these for a while. From what I've heard, the only thing Nuvinci won't publish is the efficiency numbers. This is because they are lower than a regular IGH, but none the less, they are not published.
The N171 was the previous version, 171% ratio. The new N360 is 360% ratio. I heard back from Nuvinci, and they say the 2012 N360 (still 360% gearing) is the same as the new models, but lacks the ability to convert to the Gates Carbon Drive system.
