Well, he does have a point.

However, I've been surprised on many occasions on how well DA stuff from that 7403 era cleans up. Quality finish that's very durable.
If the levers are rash-free, the hoods complete & intact and the faces not all smashed up, worth a half hour to clean them properly.
Same with the brakes- they're dirty but the shoes look hardly worn.
Came on a quality frame that looks to be in good condition, so you may be able to move those parts.
