I started USCF racing at 21 as a senior in college after the group I rode with conned me into it. I won the first race. I lapped the field solo in my second. Overall I did pretty well, winning my share of races and racing competitively with some of the greats in the sport. I raced until I was 27 and just plain burned out on the training and racing. I was not smart about it back then. If I had the coach then that I have now I would have probably ended up like Cleave.

I quit racing and mostly riding until 2010. I got back into racing and have done very well. I have been ranked as high as 9th in the country in my age group and category. That's better than when I was younger.
