At some point in the future, one of the front chainrings will be eliminated. Think about that. Sounds great unless you don't have electronic or ancient friction shifting. Then when you crest that hill and start to zoom down the other side, you have to roll through all of those gears one at a time. Then your down hill run ends and you start another epic climb. You have to repeat the sequence again going the other way. That is a whole lot of shifting. Your wrist is sure going to get tired! Maybe by then electronic shifting will have taken over.
