I'm not trying to dismiss the OP's misfortune, and am happy to hear it turned out OK (sort of), I just don't see it as bicycle related.

OTOH, maybe it's worthwhile for the helmet thread.
Has been fodder for the Woe is Us Victims crowd of A&S for quite awhile. Often is a catalyst for the same level of incoherent thought as seen in the helmet thread by the same ranter(s).
