I'd go for Schwalbe Big Apples or one of the Marathon options. Maybe the new Schwalbe Durano Plus: a more durable version of the Durano. It should be faster than a standard Marathon. Please note that the original Marathon and Marathon Plus are very slow. They also take a long time to wear out so I don't know if the new versions are better.

I don't recommend Primo Comets. I don't like their wet weather performance. They never felt really secure in the wet.

You could always try a Kenda Kwest. Not the fastest tyre out there but cheap and reasonable.
