It is Japanese built.
No lie about the upgrade! The Ross was an inexpensive CL purchase strictly to put back into riding condition and learn the ins/outs. Plus with full Shimano 600 Arabesque group set I figured that the components were worth what I paid for the whole bike. Now I have to sell the Ross along to some new rider for them to enjoy.
