Reynolds 520 and 531 are not the same. 520 is Cr-Mo. 531 is Mn-Mo. Bottom bracket chasing at my LBS in NYC is $20. It's not a show stopper.

Chasing down a link from those references, I saw this statement in a
Reynolds overview doc:
For our steel products, the increasing brand number generally indicates higher strength based on the alloy content.
In that document, I don't see any figures for 531. Do they no longer make it?
