+1 Trek is preferable. Suspension forks steal energy not just by being heavy, but also by allowing superfluous movement. Take any front-sus bike and go up a hill standing on the pedals, and it will become obvious.

But also +2 just buy a new wheel. You can probably get a cheap new wheel for under $40 at most bike shops.
