When you plug it into a computer, you can check the properties of the disk.

The full North America maps are around 2 GB and can take 1+ hours to copy across USB. It's much faster to remove the microSD card (if that's where you are installing maps) and plug tgevcard into the PC.

That the 1000 has 2+ GB memory isn't anything I've heard about before.
