I swear people are just dancing around the genius of a Raleigh 3-speed. IMO Mike Flanigan (ANT bikes) has been re-inventing the British 3-speed with the most flair/dedication for a long-ass time and gets not nearly enough credit. And if you want a bike inspired by the XO-1, might as well get one from the guy what invented it:
