I hate to tell you this but the bike cop is usually not the cyslist friend. In New York City, they are looking for cyclist going the wrong way and running red lights. They are not there to show sympthy to cyclist.
Yeah, if you are thinking about running any lights, you need to make an additional check for these characters. Around here, it'll cost you $90 if you don't. A friend of mine got caught twice one Friday night. Ouch!
