I'd ask you doctor as to what you may expect. In my case I waited about 3 months after injury hoping it would cure itself, it did not. So I had surgery to trim my torn lateral and medial meniscus . Age is a factor, I'm 63. I was able to ride for the first time around a month after surgery, I have no pain, but a lot of clicking sounds when extending my leg. 4 1/2 months after surgery I'm now doing 110 to 120 mile weeks and feeling good, I still have some swelling that should have disappeared long ago, but has not. So not to worry, IMO my recovery is taking a bit longer than normal however the end result, with patience and exercise seem fine, yours likely will be quicker. Good luck.
