The wife dropped me off at 7am. It was already warm and the lower part of Big Pine Rd was toasty because of no shade. I think I got passed by maybe 3 cars and a few motorcycles on the ascent. I carried 3 water bottles and turned around at Table Mountain campground. All in all, it was a fantastic ride. The elevation (ie, less oxygen) wasn't too hard to deal with though I did notice that I had to sit sooner than planned when I was standing up.

I got a rear flat at mile 5 and after that, I stayed in the middle of the road to avoid all of the dried up thorns/stickers on the shoulder.

Was the snack bar open at Mt High North? I know that on the weekends they have a frizbee golf course set up there.
