A good way to get your mph up is to ride in one gear higher than is comfortable for as long as possible. Just tell yourself to not upshift. After awhile that gear will feel easy. That's what I do if I've been off the bike awhile and get out of shape.
I appreciate the holding the gear, or 1 up, for as long as you can.
I will use that here after I get comfortable on my new bike.
Right now, I'm trying not to hurt myself, but push a little bit at the same time - if that makes since.

It's funny, because I could stand and be aggressive on a hill but the front tire squawls real quick.
Note to self; do not get aggressive until you lose some weight.
