I definitely agree that the shoes don't live up to the hype.
That's why they end up like this:
Even broken in, they're mediocre at best as far as comfort goes even for cycling shoe standards. For me, they seemed to have lost some of their stiffness in the sole overtime with the continual break in process.
They pale in comparison with mission workshop's shoes which were comfortable from the get go and just got better with wear.
