...around here, on the lower end of Vancouver Island, we have been blessed by the disappearance of two railroads and these have both been turned into rail trails, we also have old interurban lines that were long ago made into a combination of rural roads or trails. The combination is called the Galloping Goose regional trail and the Lochside Regional Trail, we also have the current railroad line that is seldom used and has a bike path built along side it, this is called the E&N Rail Trail. Put together they provide over 90 miles of amazing bike trails that are utilized by many commuters and fitness riders as well as families just out for the fun of it...
