You know you've bonked when...

So I've been feeling intermittently sick and drained lately. Instead of my normal commute of ~16 miles, I've been using the bus and cutting it to 5, or no cycling at all.

Well, I forgot to buy a new bus pass, so did the entire 16 miles on the bike today, ~15-18mph headwind. Making a left turn. Didn't turn enough. Instead of correcting I...put my feet down and try to brake/slow down/pivot that way. No go. The thought of taking my hands off the tops, and reaching for the brakes somehow never appeared in my head. Instead, I just get ready to bail after the inevitable contact with the curb.

I did a fine job of bailing though, completely cleared the extra wide sidewalk to land in wet mulch. Not even a bruise.
