I am sure it happened exactly the way Pantani's parents think, and I am sure there is a French lab somewhere that still has that bottle. They will come forward here shortly and let us know that they have used some obscure and never before heard of test to prove that it was Lance Armstrong forcing him to dope...errr...take the dose of cocaine. Tyler Hamilton and Floyd Landis will come forward shortly thereafter to let us know that Lance once tried to force them to take cocaine as well and that they were too moral and upright to stoop to such a thing.

This is just more of the pattern...Nearly all of the famous European heroes of cycling had their own black marks against them...Merckx was a proven doper, Pantani died of a drug overdose, etc...but the Europeans find a way to rehabilitate their legacies and absolve them of their sins so that they can continue to adore them. "Merckx doping? Well of course he did...everybody did it back then!" "Pantani died of a drug overdose? Well of course...only because he was forced to ingest the drugs!" But an American...no chance for redemption; "Lance was a doper...Out with him! Banish his name from the records forever! Not because he doped...everybody was still doing that...but because he was an a-hole about it!"
