I must disagree with this statement! I'm as picky as anyone, and my 10 year old TA chainrings on my 7800 bike (with TA crank) still shift beautifully. The big ring is nicely ramped and pinned. Is it as good as a new 9000 set up? It better not be for the money they charge for that stuff (!) but TA rings make beautiful music with KMC chains. I recommend them without reservation. They are beautiful and wear extremely well.
