I don't think rivnuts are a good idea for anything. And most of us don't do that great of a job at hand tapping so I don't think that I would bother with that either. Granted, if someone with experience is building a frame they know it's going to last for decades, whereas some people that post in here don't have that sort of confidence. But I think that cutting corners on something like a water bottle boss is false economy.
