I've had a 1000 for a few months now. The wifi was rubbish so I stopped using it. But with the bluetooth phone connection, I don't need to. I've had no sensor dropouts but I have had to manually connect speed/cadence after riding my wet bike without sensors. It's easy to use, I get loads of stats to look at. I sometimes race the virtual partner. The battery life has survived easily several 100 mile rides and a very extended 140 mile overnight ride, admittedly I set everything to use minimal power on that one but still had hrm, speed and cadence connected.

Downsides. Having to unlock your iphone and either open the garmin app or 'ok' the connection. It isn't automatic. The garmin navigation sent me down a singletrack dirt road, and the garmin express isn't supported on anything older than windows vista. I'm running xp so I have had to find other ways to download updates, etc. no way am I buying a new os just for the sake of a cycle computer!!
