T-Mar, thanks for the great info via PM. Now that you mention it, it does seem conflicting that the decal says Tange 5 yet the top tube says double butted. Any info you can dig up is, as usual, greatly appreciated!
The serial # on the bike is Y5F1400, as indicated in this pic:
