I don't think where you live has anything to do with what tire is best.
I live in W. North Carolina, and there's every different type of riding imagineable
around here. Slick rock as in Moab. Rain forest as in the Amazon. Dense woods like in the Pacific NW. Sandy trails as in New Mexico. Plains as in the Mid West. You name it
we've got it. The bottom line is to buy a tire that best suits the terrain where you'll ride. I have 4 different wheelsets built-up that I swap out as needed, depending on the ride location & weather conditions....
