It isn't just on CR though. There is a group of fellows that I ride with that place a premium on these bikes.

They have some of the nicer classics in this area and spend almost zero time on boards.

They develop lists of builders that demonstrate certain stylistic elements in their craft.

Some of these fellows list a McLean as a must have and I would say I am in that group as well.

The problem then is finding one that fits. It isn't a money issue for me, it's a supply issue.

The dollars mentioned here seem reasonable, but I wouldn't worry about paying a little more for the right one.
