Another aside to this conversation - I have both Ergon GP-1 grips, and Specialized Ergonomic grips. They are both very similar, except the Specialized ones are slightly more flexible, and therefor more comfortable....... And, I am a big fan of Ergon Grips - but the Specialized grips are worth looking at.
